Monthly budget worksheet for hostel and PG life
Enter what you actually receive and spend. Fees paid per semester or per year are converted to a monthly figure so you can see what each month really costs. We supply no prices or typical amounts: every number here is yours.
Your month
Enter amounts to see your monthly totals.
How the conversion works
- Per week: the amount × 52 ÷ 12. For example, ₹600 a week is ₹600 × 52 ÷ 12 = ₹2,600 a month.
- Per semester: the amount ÷ 6, treating a semester as six months. ₹30,000 a semester is ₹5,000 a month.
- Per year: the amount ÷ 12. ₹12,000 a year is ₹1,000 a month.
- Per day: total monthly spending × 12 ÷ 365, an average across the year.
The examples show the arithmetic only; they are not typical costs.
Making the numbers work
- Fill it in twice: once before you move with your best guesses, and again at the end of the first month with real figures.
- Put savings or an emergency fund in as a spending line, so it is paid first rather than from whatever is left.
- Look at the three biggest lines first. A small change to a big line can save more than trimming several small ones.
- If the month comes out short, talk to whoever supports you early, before you borrow or miss a payment.
