About HostelPeti
HostelPeti (peti means trunk) is a free packing and planning site for people moving into a college hostel or a paying-guest (PG) home in India.
What it is for
Moving into a shared room raises the same questions every year: what to pack, what to buy there, which appliances are safe and allowed, which papers to carry, and how to make the money last the month. The site answers them with four situation checklists, a guide to everyday product types, a budget worksheet and short guides.
Who it is for
Students starting at a college hostel, their parents and guardians, people living in PGs with or without meals, and people moving to a new city for a first job. It is written for adults and older students; it is not designed for children.
Who publishes it
HostelPeti is published by ISHAA ESPORTS AND MOTORSPORTS LLP. You can reach us through the contact and corrections page.
How the content is made
Researched and drafted with AI assistance, checked against the sources cited on each page; publisher review recorded in our corrections log.
- Rules, helplines and safety marks come from official sources such as the University Grants Commission and the Bureau of Indian Standards. Each page lists its sources and the date we checked them.
- Everything else, such as what to pack and what to check before buying, is our own practical guidance, written for small shared rooms.
- We describe product types, not specific products. We have not tested, rated or ranked anything, and we do not publish prices.
- No brand or seller has paid for anything on this site. How the Amazon search links work is explained in our affiliate disclosure.
- Pages were last reviewed on 26 October 2026. Rules and lists change, so we date what we check.
What it is not
HostelPeti is general information. It is not legal, financial, medical or electrical advice, and it does not replace your hostel’s, PG’s or employer’s own rules.
